Marvel Studios unveiled its upcoming 2025 TV slate on Disney+ in a new look-ahead teaser that aired during the Agatha All Along finale. The footage included the first looks at Marvel’s three live-action series in 2025: Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Wonder Man.
First up is Daredevil: Born Again, which premieres on March 4, 2025. The series features the returns of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Cox and D’Onofrio played the same roles in Netflix’s Daredevil from 2015-2018. Also returning for Born Again are Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher.

Marvel casts Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man for Disney+

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will reprise his role as DC Comics’ villainous Black Manta in next year’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, Abdul-Mateen is going to get a chance to portray a superhero of his own in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well. Deadline is reporting that Abdul-Mateen has been cast as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, for his own upcoming Disney+ series.
Don’t let the name fool you. Marvel’s Wonder Man has nothing to do with DC’s Wonder Woman. Instead, Stan Lee and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby created Simon Williams as a one-off Avengers villain in 1964. Within his debut story, Simon was a disgraced executive who was given superpowers by the Masters of Evil in return for infiltrating the Avengers and betraying them. Regardless, Simon ultimately sided with the Avengers and turned against the Masters even though it cost him his life.
Daredevil comics that should inspire Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+

The original Daredevil TV series on Netflix (before making its new home on Disney+ this past spring) was a triumphant reinvention of the superhero in live-action akin to writer Frank Miller’s shift of the character out of the ’70s and into the ’80s that influenced his source materials to this day. And even though Kevin Feige and Co. at Marvel Studios didn’t have a direct hand in the show’s production, they still felt compelled to acknowledge its acclaim by getting the band back together for Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+.
2003’s live-action movie certainly didn’t set a high bar, but the show took cues from some of the best source material on the hero to tell a more grounded, crime-noir take on Daredevil’s corner of the Marvel universe that proved to be some of the best superhero TV. It’s akin to how the days of zany over-the-top campiness in the character’s comics in the ’70s were waning and veering toward cancellation. Though it seems like keeping that same atmosphere from the show on Disney+ is apparently too much to ask, there are still plenty of top-notch comics to make Born Again another great solo outing on its own merits.

Here’s what Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again Disney+ show could look like

Following a massive San Diego Comic-Con, one of the many bombshells that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios dropped was the cleverly named Daredevil: Born Again series, with several possibilities on what this could mean for the titular hero. The original show was prematurely cut short following Netflix giving it the ax shortly after Daredevil’s euphoric third season, and this long-awaited announcement is surely justice to many fans.
While concrete timeline status is a bit murky, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Born Again be a sort of soft reboot. The show could maintain the same general continuity of its predecessor’s story while taking place far enough later that it functions as its own starting point — like a new comic book run. Even still, there are still potential characters and storylines — partly based on the first show — that could drive the plot of this astonishingly longer 18-episode season.
